Dhaka – The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is completely ready to tackle any untoward situation at frontiers, state-run Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha news agency said on Tuesday.
“BGB is fully prepared and alert to prevent any kind of unwanted situation or mischief at the borders,” the agency quoted a BGB headquarters short message as saying.
Bangladesh has beefed up security on the border after its consulate in Agartala, the capital of eastern Indian State of Tripura, was attacked by a group of Hindus on Monday.
Bangladesh termed the attack pre-planned and slammed the role of the law enforcement agencies in containing the situation when the protesters broke into the Assistant High Commission and vandalized property inside.
