Dhaka – Bangladesh’s anti-graft watchdog has filed two cases against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy for allegedly allocating plots for them flouting rules in the Purbachal New Town Project, a top official at the anti-corruption agency said on Tuesday.
Md. Akhter Hossain, the director general of Anti-Corruption Commission, said the cases were filed on Tuesday at the commission’s Dhaka Integrated District Office.

Additionally, Hasina has also been named as an accomplice in the case against Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
According to ACC, the cases were filed on charges of “abuse of power” to allocate a 10-katha plot in Sheikh Hasina’s name and another 10-katha plot for her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy’s name under the Purbachal New Town Project.
