Trump, Harris push closing messages to win the heart of American people

International desk:With two days to go before the United States decides its next president, both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are pushing their closing messages as they are touring some of the seven swing states to win the heart of the electorates.

BBC reported that Trump’s campaign was working to clear up his remarks about shooting the media, as Harris dodges questions about her vote on a California crime measure. Trump has also made claims, without providing any evidence, of election fraud in Pennsylvania.

Trump’s opponents have accused the former president of using his rallies to stoke suspicion over the election process. The polls suggest the race is still exceptionally close and more than 75 million people have already voted as of Sunday.

The former president criticized his opponent, Harris, at a Georgia rally on the economy and immigration.

He also claimed the Biden administration was leading the country towards another Great Depression.

“What a time that was, people jumping of buildings, and that’s where we’re headed, because we have leadership that’s incompetent,” Trump was quoted as saying by CNN broadcaster. He referred to the difficulty that the people of America suffered during the economic meltdown.

On the other hand, Vice President Kamala Harris hardly mention her opponent in her final pitch to Michigan voters during a rally on Sunday.

“America is ready for a fresh start, ready for a new way forward, where we see our fellow American not as an enemy, but as a neighbor. We are ready for a president who knows that the true measure of a leader is not based on who you beat down, it is based on who you lift up,” Harris said.

She vowed to “turn the page on a decade of politics driven by fear and division.”

Though she has made contrasting Trump’s “enemies list” with her own “to-do list” a staple during her speeches in the final days of her campaign, Harris did not use the line this evening as she addressed young voters in East Lansing, according to the broadcaster.
